Climate Tribe Social — Internal Structure & Intent

Before we go through this updated structure and what each Space represents, I want to share a concern. We must become far more organized and far more closely focused on how we tackle the Climate and Ecological Emergency, and that cannot happen effectively while the Democracy Emergency goes unattended, which is a never-ending task in itself. The strength to do any of it comes from self-transformation, and self-transformation is where the Humanity Emergency begins.

The Humanity Emergency asks us to choose respect, kindness, empathy and compassion over hate, division, cruelty and racism, which have wormed their way into normalcy. We have to change individually, above all in how we treat one another, because the Displacement Emergency has grown longer legs and now reaches everyone, directly or indirectly.

That said, I believe it is well past time to put aside delay and the tendency to look away from what is plainly in front of us.

Collections & Spaces

Below are all our Collections and Spaces as they now stand in Climate Tribe Social. This is a major update, and it aligns with our focus on the Five Emergencies, on place, on language, on expertise, and on the people who carry the load first.

The Commons is free for everyone who subscribes for a paid subscription. Every other Collection and stand-alone Space is an annual subscription. Revenue sustains the platform and in time will also support our Financial Support Program, which will redistributes excess revenue back to members and communities.

When the Financial Support Program (FSP) launches, we expect eligibility to begin with paid plans. The exact rules will be published before any money moves. For legal and community-trust reasons this comment is the most up-to-date and firm about the FSP. (9.30.26)

The Commons — Free (8 Spaces)

The Commons is the town square of Climate Tribe City, open to every subscriber at no cost. New members arrive here, platform news is shared here, and the whole community gathers here, whichever Collections each member joins. If you only ever visit The Commons, you are still part of the Tribe.

  • Home: The front door of the platform, with orientation, welcome posts, and a starting point for finding your way around.
  • Announcements: Official updates on new Spaces, launches, events, and platform changes.
  • News: Curated climate and ecological news, shared and discussed with context rather than panic.
  • cCc Nudge: A dedicated virtual office for Climate Tribe subscribers to get support, ask questions, and share what they’re working through. Walk in whenever you need help. If I’m not there, leave a private or public “hit-me-up” message for a response when I return.
  • The Symposium: The community’s open forum for deeper dialogue, big-picture questions, and the conversations that shape the platform’s direction. It is also the future test space for our 11-Person-Dialogue-Sessions.
  • Hope: Real stories of progress, recovery, and people doing good work, because hope grounded in evidence is a survival skill.
  • Climate Literacy: Plain-language learning for anyone starting out: the vocabulary, the basics, and the questions people are sometimes embarrassed to ask.
  • The Archive: Our back catalogue of earlier writing and posts, kept in one place so that useful work is not lost as the community grows. Chat feature is disabled for this space.

All Five Emergencies — $149.00/year (5 Collections, 55 Spaces)

The five Emergency Collections below are the spine of this platform, and they are offered together at a reduced price. Bought separately the five come to $199.95; together they are $149.00, a saving of $50.95. If you only take one thing from this page, take this one.

The Climate Emergency — $39.99/year (13 Spaces)

This Collection covers the physical crisis itself: how the climate system is changing, what is driving it, and the full range of responses, from energy and transportation to policy and global negotiations. It is for anyone who wants to understand the science clearly and follow the decisions that will determine how much warming the world locks in.

  • Climate Science: The evidence, the research, and the scientists behind it, explained in plain language.
  • Extreme Heat & Cooling: Staying safe in rising heat, including warning signs, cooling strategies, and heat-resilient homes and neighborhoods.
  • Weather & Extremes: Storms, floods, droughts, and fire weather, and what the trends mean for where you live.
  • Fossil Fuels: Coal, oil, and gas, including the industry behind them and the path to phasing them out.
  • Renewable Energy: Solar, wind, storage, and the grid, from household choices to national buildouts.
  • Transportation & EVs: Electric vehicles, transit, cycling, walking, and the future of how we move.
  • Housing & the Built Environment: Buildings, retrofits, zoning, and homes and cities designed to withstand what is coming.
  • Adaptation: Preparing people, places, and systems for the changes already underway.
  • Denialism: Recognizing and answering climate denial and delay tactics with facts and patience.
  • Energy Burden & Utility Costs: What households pay for energy, who pays the most, and how to lower bills and push for fairness.
  • Climate Policy, Bills & Reports: Tracking legislation, regulations, and major reports, and what they actually require.
  • Climate Organizations: A meeting place for climate groups to share their work, find partners, and connect with members.
  • COP & Global Negotiations: Following the UN climate talks and international agreements, and what they mean on the ground.

The Ecological Emergency — $39.99/year (11 Spaces)

The climate crisis is only half the story. This Collection focuses on the living world: oceans, forests, soil, water, and every species that depends on them, including us. It is for anyone who wants to understand the collapse of ecosystems and biodiversity and help protect, restore, and regrow what remains.

  • Ocean & Ocean Life: Marine ecosystems, warming and acidifying seas, and the life within them.
  • Forestry & Rainforests: Forests as climate stabilizers, the threats they face, and the people protecting them.
  • Wildlife, Species & Pets: Animals wild and domestic, from insects and endangered species to caring for pets in a changing climate.
  • Ice, Glaciers & Permafrost: The frozen regions of the planet, how fast they are changing, and why it matters everywhere.
  • Food & Farming: Farmers, seeds, agriculture, and food systems that can feed people through disruption.
  • Land & Soil: Healthy soil, land use, and the ground beneath every food system and ecosystem.
  • Fresh Water: Rivers, lakes, aquifers, drinking water, drought, and the fight for clean water access.
  • Biodiversity: The web of life on Earth, what we are losing, and how to protect it.
  • Pollution & Plastics: Air, water, and plastic pollution, their health effects, and practical ways to reduce them.
  • Growing & Gardening: Home gardens, community plots, and growing food and habitat where you live.
  • Regeneration & Rewilding: Restoring damaged land and waters and giving nature room to recover on its own terms.

The Humanity Emergency — $39.99/year (13 Spaces)

Every emergency on this platform is ultimately a human one. This Collection centers people: their rights, health, cultures, work, and communities. It pays special attention to how the crisis falls hardest on those with the least protection. It moves hate towards compassion. It is a place to care for one another as deliberately as we study the science.

  • Human Dignity & Rights: Defending the rights and dignity of every person as the crisis deepens.
  • Indigenous Peoples & Land Defenders: Honoring Indigenous knowledge and standing with those who protect land and water, often at great personal risk.
  • Children & Youth: Young people, education, and schools: how the adults around them can help the next generation learn, cope, and lead.
  • Families: Protecting households, planning together, and raising children through uncertain times.
  • Elders & Aging: Keeping older adults safe in heat and disaster, and learning from the wisdom elders bring to the work.
  • Disability & Access: Making sure preparedness, evacuation, and resilience plans include everyone.
  • Health & Climate: Physical health, exercise, and the growing health impacts of heat, smoke, and disease.
  • Mental Health & Climate Grief: A supportive Space for anxiety, grief, and emotional resilience in the face of loss.
  • The Crossroads: Extinction or Evolution: This is not a space for doomers who have surrendered or successionists who welcome humanity’s replacement. It is a space for safeguarding the human person amid AI, misinformation, misconceptions, and ignorance—while choosing conscious evolution over extinction.
  • Work & Just Transition: Jobs, workers’ rights, and a transition that leaves no worker or community behind.
  • Inter-Faith: People of every faith and of none, finding common ground in caring for the living world and for one another.
  • Culture, Music & the Arts: Creativity as a force for change, healing, and connection.
  • Communities & Neighbors: Local bonds, mutual aid, and the neighbor-to-neighbor ties that carry people through disasters.
  • The Idea Engine: An open workshop for proposals, out-of-the-box strategies, and solutions drawn from real experience. One of my favorite spaces as I plan to post many ideas here.

The Democracy Emergency — $39.99/year (10 Spaces)

No climate solution survives without working institutions, honest information, and people who participate. This Collection examines the health of democracy and governance as the crisis intensifies. It looks at how decisions are made, who is held accountable, and how ordinary people can make their voices count.

  • Government & Public Policy: How governments at every level shape climate outcomes, and how to engage with them.
  • Elections & Civic Participation: Voting, candidates, ballot measures, and turning climate concern into civic action.
  • Climate Law & the Courts: Climate litigation, legal rights, and the role of the courts in holding power to account.
  • Corruption & Accountability: Following the money and exposing the influence that blocks action.
  • Press Freedom & Independent Media: Supporting the journalists and outlets who keep the public informed.
  • Information Integrity: Spotting misinformation and disinformation, and building a healthier information environment.
  • Organizing & Civic Action: Campaigns, coalitions, and the practical skills of organizing.
  • Leadership & Governance: What good leadership looks like in a crisis, in public office and in community life.
  • Security & Civil Protection: Public safety, emergency management, and protecting people and critical systems.
  • Technology & Digital Rights: The technology industry, privacy, and digital freedoms. This Space is also home to Tech Circularity, which moves working retired hardware out of storage and into schools, libraries, and communities.

The Technology & Digital Rights are based on my own personal experience.

The Displacement Emergency — $39.99/year (8 Spaces)

As climate impacts intensify, storms, floods, heat, drought, and rising seas are forcing more people from their homes. This Collection, the newest of the Five Emergencies, addresses climate displacement with honesty and compassion. It covers the people who are moving, the communities receiving them, and the laws, costs, and losses involved. Previously named Climate Refugees.

  • Climate Migration & Displacement: Why people are moving, where they are going, and what they need along the way.
  • Managed Retreat & Relocation: Planned moves away from high-risk areas, and how to carry them out fairly.
  • Disaster Response & Shelter: Emergency shelter, relief, and recovery in the days and months after disaster.
  • Host Communities & Welcome: Helping communities prepare to receive newcomers with dignity and open arms.
  • Borders, Law & Climate Status: The legal gaps facing people displaced by climate, and the efforts to close them.
  • Loss & Damage: The losses adaptation cannot prevent, and the fight for fair compensation.
  • Small Islands & Statelessness: Island nations facing existential threats, and what happens when a homeland disappears.
  • Insurance & the Uninsurable: Rising premiums, retreating insurers, and protecting households when coverage disappears.

Stand-Alone Spaces — $20.00/year each

These Spaces are offered on their own, outside any Collection.

  • The Women’s Café: A welcoming Space for women to connect, support one another, and share perspectives on climate, community, and life. If you prefer to reach out to a woman in order to discuss becoming a founding member you can send an email to language@climatechangecommunity.com and she will reply.
  • The Health Challenge: A participatory Space for building healthier habits together, with shared goals, encouragement, and accountability.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) — $50.00/year (2 Spaces)

Artificial intelligence is reshaping how we learn, work, and respond to crisis, and it carries real environmental costs. This Collection is where members look at both sides honestly: how to use AI well, and how to hold the industry accountable for its footprint.

  • Data Centers & the Energy Cost of AI: The energy, water, and land demands of AI infrastructure, and what greener AI looks like.
  • AI in Practice: Hands-on tips, tools, and prompts for using AI in climate work, education, and daily life.

The Front-Line Guilds — $29.99/year (13 Spaces)

The Front-Line Guilds are peer Spaces for the people who meet the emergency first and hardest. Each Café gives workers in a shared field a place to trade experience, find support, network and bring what they see on the ground to the rest of the community. This is one of the most important and most serious Collections on the platform.

  • Climate, Conflict & Security: How climate stress drives conflict and instability, and how communities and institutions respond.
  • Farmworkers Café: For the people who grow and harvest our food through heat, drought, and shifting seasons.
  • Emergency Services Café: For EMTs, paramedics, dispatchers, and emergency management staff.
  • Firefighters Café: For firefighters facing longer and more dangerous fire seasons.
  • Nurses Café: For nurses caring for patients through heat waves, smoke, and disasters.
  • Teachers Café: For educators teaching climate and supporting students through disruption.
  • Law Enforcement Café: For officers handling evacuations, disasters, and community safety in a changing climate.
  • Infrastructure Workers Café: For the people who build and maintain power, water, transit, and communications systems.
  • Essential Services Café: For sanitation, delivery, retail, and other essential workers who keep daily life running.
  • Faith & Humanist Leaders Café: For clergy, secular and humanist leaders, and anyone of faith or of none who helps others through hard times.
  • Youth & Mentorship Leaders Café: For youth workers, mentors, and the leaders young people actually turn to.
  • Public Officials Café: A peer Space where elected and appointed officials can talk candidly with one another.
  • Environmental Experts Café: A peer Space for scientists, engineers, and environmental professionals.

For lack of a keyword when I developed this space a few years ago, I termed this group within Climate Change Community as the Climate Warriors. Note that in other organizations and platforms refer to Climate Warriors differently.

The Seven Continents of Earth — $29.99/year (8 Spaces)

The emergency is global, but it lands locally. This Collection works at both scales. Earth holds the whole planet in view, and each continent has its own Space where members compare conditions, news, and solutions across the region and meet the people and projects responding there. Local Spaces follow in 2027.

  • Earth
  • Africa
  • Antarctica
  • Asia
  • Europe
  • North America
  • Oceania
  • South America
  • Coming around March 2027 — Town, City, Village & State Spaces ($99.00/year): Dedicated Spaces for a specific community, where neighbors can plan and act together close to home. Each one is designed with the requesting community from the start, in a live session with us.

Example Only: South America (continent)
Added Peru as a sub-space underneath and further if desired a town within might want their own space. From Macro to Micro focus which also works to connect with other locations around the planet.

The Language Dialogue Lounges — $29.99/year

Climate conversation shouldn’t require English. The Language Dialogue Lounges give members a place to talk about the emergency in their own language, practice a new one, and build bridges across cultures. One subscription opens every current and future Lounge.

  • French Language Lounge: Our first Lounge, now open.

  • Coming next, with your help: We hope to open Spanish, German, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Italian, Portuguese, and many more. Each Lounge needs volunteer moderators who are fluent in its language and rooted in its culture, whether they live in that country or abroad. A new Lounge can open only once its moderators are in place. If you’d like to help bring your language to the community, contact Professor Masse at language@climatechangecommunity.com.

Partners, Professionals & Institutions (9 Programs)

These programs are for organizations, institutions, and professionals who want to work alongside this community in a more formal way. In September 2026 we cut several of these prices sharply, some of them from $1,000 to $20.00, because the point of this platform is protecting the future, not making money. All prices are annual.

  • Civic Hearth ($20.00): For local civic institutions: town and village governments, community boards, and neighborhood and tenant associations. Global reach for global citizen dialogues.
  • Climate Organizations & Partners ($20.00): Monthly meetings for the leaders of climate organizations, with each other and with us. Great source for brainstorming your organizations growth.
  • Educators & Learning Institutions ($20.00): A solutions room for education administrators at every level, especially those doing this work without support. Those who oversee and work with teachers are encouraged to subscribe.
  • The Public Officials Program ($20.00): For verified officeholders: elected and appointed officials, district attorneys, superintendents, and agency heads. Great for those running for office.
  • The Civil Protection Council ($89.99): For security, military, cyber, and emergency management professionals, public-interest lawyers, and civil-liberties organizations.
  • The Environmental Experts Network ($89.99): A professional network where environmental experts share their knowledge and support members with informed guidance. Home of front-line meteorologists.
  • The Emotional Resilience Network ($149.00): For mental-health and human-development professionals working on emotional strength and well-being in a time of crisis.
  • The Creators Collective ($1,000): For creators, artists, celebrities, and media makers producing climate content and campaigns in partnership with the community.
  • The Cornerstone Circle ($5,000): For foundational supporters whose commitment helps sustain the platform and its community programs.

The Control Center is the platform’s operational core, where research becomes action. It brings response planning, learning resources, economic tools, and funding leads together in one place for members ready to move from understanding to doing.

  • Response Hub: Home of The World’s Climate Policy Playbook, a roughly 24-page resource updated every three to four months, along with coordinated response resources.
  • The cCc Media Library: Videos, articles, reports, and learning materials curated by Climate Change Community.
  • Economy & Circular Systems: Reuse, repair, circular economies, and economic systems that don’t waste the planet.

How to Join

Between now and December 21, 2026 we open a new Space or Collection somewhere in the network just about every Sunday, and we are sending personal invitations to founding members throughout that period. The platform opens fully to the public on December 21, 2026 or if delayed January 2nd, 2027. If you would like an invitation before then, send a no-link email to contact@climatechangecommunity.com and ask for a Zoom dialogue.
